Lauren Chinn, also known as Lali, is an expert hat wearer. She has worn the Sports Fanatic Baseball Cap. The Piano and Math Teacher Beanie. The Devout Christian Top Hat. The Web and Mobile App Developer SnapBack. And she’s currently sporting the Social Justice Liberation Fedora. At Reclaim UGLY, she’s an octopus with a hat for every arm. She is the Project Manager for Solidarity Healing September & Black Healing October. She maintains our website. She supports our healers with tech. She schedules events. She supports our support team. She wrangles our Executive Director. She maintains the system that allows us to fly – and she always does it from a place of love. While not working with Reclaim UGLY, she serves on the admin/moderator team for the Bay Area – Progressive Asian American Christians Facebook group, volunteers with the Prisoner Advocacy Network, participates in healing and educational projects, follows the drama of local politics, dances around and sings along to music in her room, spends quality time with friends, does grocery shopping for her parents, and reminds people that shame and self-judgement get in the way of self-love and self-compassionate solution building.
